There is elk between yelm and nisqaully, been logging out there for years and seen plenty of elk less than 1\4 mile from where these qaurters are. there is always an elk or deer hangin on the back porch of the purple house just inside the tribal rez boundary. I have and many of the federal timber sale people have witnessed tribal elk hunting right behind the casino, as well as plenty of white guy's poachin in there also.
go ahead on er.

WOW... Well do you have pictures of any ELK right by the Casino cause I have friends that are Tribal and I have lived in this area for 28 years and have never seen a elk in that area.... I have seen them in Rainier on JBLM... (Off Rainier Road)

Hey Yelm Hunter. PM me your number and I will text you those pics. As far as elk on the fort, I've seen them in TA 11. Less than a mile from the Roy Y. I've seen them in TA's 21 and 23. I don't believe for a second these are resident elk. In fact I know they aren't. They are just passing through, looking for food. Usually around late spring.

I don't usually pack a camera while cutting timber, if you would like I can get you in touch with some of the forestry guys from ft.lewis to confirm if you feel that it's necessary. I have been in the area for 40 years not that thats relevant.
go ahead on er.
