Short notice duck guides
« on: December 07, 2011, 10:23:59 PM »
So my brother is deployed to afganistan and knew that he would be able to come home for RR in december sometime but we couldnt nail down an exact date. We found out today that he leaves tomorrow for home and will be here in the next 4-6 days for a lil more than a week. My family wants to set up a guided duck hunt for him for a couple of days as he has missed all of the hunting for this season. Problem is that its pretty short notice. Im no expert on guided hunts and was wondering what to expect on such short notice. will most places be booked up or do we got a shot at shootin some ducks with a reliable guide?

Also any of your favorite duck guides would be nice. have a feelin eagle lakes may be booked up but thats a complete guess. Any info would be greatly appreciated

look around in the web, find a good looking guide and give em a call, usually they plan hunts every couple days (i think) and sometimes people even cancel last min. Never been on a guided hunt myself, but was looking a while back at North Flight waterfowl guides, a guy i know says there pretty good but i dont really know much about them  :dunno:.  Burbank would be another good one to look at possibly. Again im just name off some i  have heard of, never been on one myself. Goodluck though, any soliders deserves some RR duck huntin!

Echternkamp is top notch!!! You won't be disappointed.

What side of the state are you from? I am surprised that none of our duck guys have stepped up to offer a trip to one of our service members. I am no guide but if your brother would like to come out to the coast for a sea duck hunt I would take him out. Tell him thanks for his service.

Call Burbank Goose Club.  Ask to get on Paul's Pond.  Heck do a search on it.  You will not be disappointed.  If they do not have availability I have another person who has something simular.

Another vote for this http://easternwashingtonguides.com/  A friend hunted with them 2 days ago and they got 19 ducks. Their goose hunts are a blast too.

Burbank with Paul Sullivan is good but may be booked. Same with Echternkamp, but try anyways. Another option would be south of royal city, on Jay Kuche's property.
