Nailed a coyote with my savage .17
« on: December 18, 2011, 10:27:16 AM »
Went out and did a little coyote calling the other day and had a double come in, I nailed the first one and had sagebrush in my way to try and get the double I still threw rounds at him though, check out the video

I should have had that double, but I had a weird shooting angle behind that sagebrush and didn't take my time to take a good shot, bad excuse I know  but I was still happy to finally get one with my .17

Thanks  :chuckle: My buddy and I edited the movie together and just threw some songs in there for the time being, were new to the video editing deal so were just playing around with it for now.

Great job on the video and the music! Bring more bullets! LOL

I know I was pretty stoked with how well it did, I was a little worried how well it would do out past 100 yards but it did wonders at 150  :chuckle:

My Cannon HF200 HD is 3 years old. It's small but has a good zoom and with a tri-pod it works great. That was our first video and with some more experience with this new video editing software, we should be able to start making some great videos. We decided to leave the "misses" and comedy in the video because it added to the realism. Im glad you guys enjoyed it.

Maybe we are on to something here :chuckle: Maybe he just thought it was a fly buzzing by his head :chuckle: My 223's and 7mm-08 I call with are a little louder :chuckle: So I might have to buy me a 17 and try it out :chuckle:

The little .17 did good, I think ill stick with head shots though cause im not sure what it would do to vitals?

Yeah it did. I have a buddy that has shot more then a few with them. I think head shots are a great idea with that cal past about 75 yards. At that range I am sure you will kill them but you will have a lot of runner. Those little suckers blow up pretty quick. We have shot my 22lr along with his 17hmr into a lot of yotes. I get a lot less runners at 50+ yards then him.
