nikkon warranty question
«
on:
July 16, 2008, 09:23:29 AM »
I have a pair of nikkon atb binos that i absolutely love but one of the eye relief things is broken. Just wondering what I need to do in order to have them fixed. I know I have about a 25 year warranty on them or lifetime... something like that... Do I just send em in with my return addy?
how good are they about their warranty policy?
how quick are they with returns? I don't wanna miss high buck.

Actually, let us know how all the Warranty experience goes with Nikons. I have the same set as you and have yet to have a problem that needed fixed, but would be happy to hear how it all goes for you so I know what to expect if I do develop a need for the warrant.

HEY! Now "I" need that info if you don't mind sharing it!
One of my eye cups just came off in my hands......these things are about 5 years old, and have the same 25 year warrantee. The glass is amazingly clear, and I've always babied them a bit, other than rain during elk season.
Makes me wonder is they will actually make it 25 years...

I'll bump this up with my first post here. It did not seem the question got answered, so since my experience relates to the question, here goes. We all do dumb stuff with equipment from time to time. What I managed to do with my Nikon Monarch 8x42 was to not notice they had fallen out of the pickup when we made a pit stop on the way up deer hunting. When we got there, I decided to use different glass, and didn't even notice they were gone. On the way back out,"... well look there there's a binocular in its case just laying beside the road". Well it was mine. I had managed to clip the edge of the case with a tire and this broke the eye cup (aka eye relief things).
I got on Nikon's website under warranty/service and sent the binocular in. As I had busted the thing, I did not expect them to repair it under warranty. They did not. They e-mailed me that the repair cost would be $20.00. I sent payment electronically and told them to go ahead. I got an almost immediate e-mail back that said the part was on back order status and the repair would take several weeks. Three days later UPS showed up with a brand new sealed in the box binocular.
