Late season Whitetail Success
« on: December 26, 2011, 02:44:53 PM »
I haven't had much time lately to spend on good old Hunt-WA, but I wanted to share some pictures from some of the success we had during the late archery hunt here in WA..

My good buddy Jason was the first of us to tag out, He had been hunting for the Giant 4 point I had on camera a bunch but that buck disappeared just before archery season opened.
He shot this 5x7 in the end of Nov.

Later on I found out the giant 4 point we had been after was killed the last day of rifle season.
I saw it in Gods Creation Taxidermy and put a a tape on it at 150"

On Dec 1st a new buck showed up in one of the areas I hunt. I got him on 3 cameras the same day several miles apart.
We ended up hunting him for 8 days from several stands before I was able to shoot him on Dec 8th

My Wife Shannon was next to tag out.
We found this buck on Dec 7th and she hunted him for 5 days before she ended up killing him on the 13th.
We had encounters with this buck on 4 different days and ended up moving her stand setup about 60 yards down the ridge to where he finely slipped up.

This is probably the oldest buck we have ever taken.

On Dec 14th My buddy Josh Hardie who had been chasing the same monster buck all of early and late season decided he better stop being so selective and shoot one of the great bucks he had been seeing.

He shot this buck the evening of the 14th after passing up many other good buck earlier in the season.

The last of our Groupd to Tag out was Zach Samek.
Some of you may know Zach, he is 16 and won the state 3D championships in WA, ID and MT this year.

He was lucky enough to get to hunt at our friend Garry Greenwalts (owner of Wild Country Guide Service)

Zach spent a lot of hours in the stand this season and passed up several young bucks waiting for a chance at a mature deer.
Zach was patient in waiting for a mature deer and shot this buck with less than 10 minutes left in the Washington season.

LOL.  Jason and Nick look photoshopped into that second pic.  Matt, you should get Garry to post up his hog from this year.  I got the pic in an email.  It was real nice too.

Thats because they are!  Well Kinda, I was gone with our good still camera when they killed that buck so this pictures we ended up with needed some work..

I will tell Garry to post a pic of it on here, it is a Monster!
