I thought landowner tags still had to.use a valid WA deer tag? Maybe something changed? When I was checking into the program each deer harvested on a landowner permit had to be tagged with a valid tag.

That's what I understood as well..... When my friend had some I had to buy another deer tag to make it legal..... This was quite a few years ago though...

I'm under the understanding that the reason for the landowner tag in the first place is because of depredation and a need to reduce the herd in that given area. Shooting a doe would seem to be the proper use fo this tag.
