This deer just didn't look healthy to me.

I second that.  Not only in his body shape but his horns look like they may be a little effected by health.

Yeah he seems to have a few spots sunken in and he just looks off. It has been pretty mellow this winter and most the deer I have seen have been looking good so far.

I figured more chronic.  He looks to have good antler genetics dimensions wise, but they are spindly, mishapen etc.   I would have expected to see a weak side or something like that with an injury.   :dunno:

to me, he looks a bit bloated, and I too think he may have something in him i.e. shaft or bullett.    His posture and ear position suggest hes uncomfortable /miserable to me.

Was he walking and standing kind of hunched up like it appears???? If so he might have a wound to the gut.... Why he looks a little thin and sucked in.... Not eating or digesting properly.....   :twocents:
