Yeah he seems to have a few spots sunken in and he just looks off. It has been pretty mellow this winter and most the deer I have seen have been looking good so far.

Probably just got his ass kicked all november long and was worn down. He looks like a guy who just got his woman stolen and his ass kicked anyways

I figured more chronic.  He looks to have good antler genetics dimensions wise, but they are spindly, mishapen etc.   I would have expected to see a weak side or something like that with an injury.

to me, he looks a bit bloated, and I too think he may have something in him i.e. shaft or bullett.    His posture and ear position suggest hes uncomfortable /miserable to me.

Was he walking and standing kind of hunched up like it appears? If so he might have a wound to the gut.... Why he looks a little thin and sucked in.... Not eating or digesting properly.....
