A friend and I were just discussing this yesterday and we came to the conclusion that there is no reason that they wouldn't offer the same late hunt next January. For whatever reason, they have determined the elk population needs to be brought down, and I don't think just a one time hunt will have the effect that they are after. Not saying I agree with it, it seems excessive to me as well. But from WDFW's perspective it makes more sense to me that they will have this hunt again next year, and probably for at least the next two years after that.
I've always wondered about killing a cow that is that far along in a pregnancy. How far along is the fetus by then? I have no idea. Bugs me.
I know the coweeman has the same hunt. Is there a real difference? Does the winston really have alot more elk than the coweeman?
