shot size for yote hunting

i have a bennelli super nova and was thinking about going yote hunting with a buddy who has a 7mm or a 270.  both of us are new to this and i was wondering what size shot do most of you guys use in your 12 gauge? i have a carlsons turkey choke is that ok too? iv heard hevi shot makes that dead coyote shot but what other options do i have? is 00buck too big ? too small?
