New pup Springer X
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:53:52 PM »
I had to give up my lab for.....long story. He was a rescue and was too set in his ways to cut it short. So I decided to go back to Springers, I had springers growing up and loved them, had 2 since we have had kids and still awesome just ended up with a lab last time.
I looked online and found this little girl sitting at a rescue shelter in Priest River and went to look at her and her brothers, she immediately melted in my arms so I knew she was the one. If she doesn't hunt she will be a great family member, but I hope she hunts.
She is springer cross, not sure about dad ( dead beat dad )she has the sideways run and a few speckles like a true springer. I wanted liver and white, but color don't mean **** to me. Good dogs are priceless!

She is, but I am a sucker for any puppy. I act like a little girl when I see a puppy!

You'll have to post a pic or two as she grows up and we can all guess what daddy might have been...

Had the same thing happen to me. Was bored last winter and made the mistake of going on petfinder.com. The springer rescue group had a litter of Springer/Lab pups. I have always wanted a Lab and thought what the heck. They had one that definantly looked more like a lab and so i went to look at him. when i walked up to the yard all the pups were out and going crazy. As i approached the gate all of the pups were jumping (like 10 week old pups do) and Otis just sat and looked at me like "alright lets go home". Needless to say i came home with him. There is no such thing as just going to look at a puppy. He has a crazy amount of drive and has got on a few birds this year. Didnt get as much time to train as i would have liked but he has done great so far. There is a pic of him on the upland dogs thread.

cute pup, my son (teacherman) just bought a little springer female from someone in glenallen ak. he drove to eureka junction and picked it up a couple of days ago.  Traded a 45/70 for her.  He has a two year old male springer and loves the breed.  Good luck on your pup.
