HELP! Need a Range test for 12yr old archery hunter
« on: January 30, 2012, 11:36:12 AM »
My 12 year old daughter has completed her online hunter ed class and now needs to complete the RANGE phase of her training before license is issued. We live in the Everett area but could travel some to complete her training. There doesn't seem to be any ranges Iv'e found that will give her the range test unless she did ALL of her hunter ed with them. Do any of you younger archery  hunters know of an archery and or rifle range we could contact for this.

I will also post in the archery forum.

Log in with the same username and password that you used with the online hunter-ed course.  This site shows all of the upcoming range skills evaluation sessions and normal hunter education courses, and allows you to register for them.  Register for one quickly, because they fill up fast.

You can also find this information on the online hunter-ed site once you completed the course.  It also has a worksheet that you must complete before going to one of the range skills evaluation sessions.

MR User is right on the money. You should also know things are getting ready to change yet again so get this done ASAP.

BTW - You may also directly contact any certified HE Instructor to perform the evaluation. You need to make sure you bring the following items.

1. The Signed Exam Certificate. A parent must sign if the student is under 18.
2. The Range Evaluation Form.
3. A signed Parental Consent form if the student is under 18 years of age.

The Range Evaluation and Regulation Quiz are found http://my.hunter-ed.com/welcome/how_it_works?default_course=201050 at the bottom of the page.

Please be aware that it is an evaluation and here are somethings the student will be evaluated on.
1. The six field carries
2. Unloading / loading firearm. This may be any action.
3. Selecting proper ammunition
4. Crossing an obstacles.
5. Difference between gauges and calibers.

Good Luck
