Tulalip Cabelas?
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:46:20 PM »
I went down to the Tulalip Cabelas and thought they might have a waterfowl section similar to those of other Cabelas.  I was wrong.  They have a poor selection of waterfowl gear.  I found this supprising as their is a lot of waterfowling in the area and to the north of it.  Maybe it will change up some closer to Oct.   :dunno:

I went down last week to see what they had for a waterfowl gear and that is exactly what I thought too. I know that you can by stuff online and have it shipped to the store for in store pickup for free. That is probably what i am going to end up doing next season if they don't get anything else in.

Wholesale sports has twice the amount of waterfowl gear.  Just about the same amount of camo clothing as well.  I will probably take advantage of just having stuff shipped to that location if needed.  Fortunately Skagit Arms and Wholesale Sports has covered what I needed fairly well.  And I fill in the extras at Rodgers or Bi-Mart.

I was disappointed as well.  The only advantage to having the store close by is internet orders can be shipped there for no cost.

It costs alot to "sell" stuff during the off season... It looked like they had a lot of fishing gear tho.
Remember, one of the reasons for the store being place here was Canadian customers. I don't know if waterfowling is as big up there.

The store isn't as good as I hoped it would be but I'm still happy its there.   Snohomish county doesn't have any good sporting goods stores left wher you can pretty much do one stop shopping.

Already talked with corporate.  It was an oversite as they were thinking it could be seasonal.  I explained that deer hunting is very few days compared with duck season (107) not including dove and release sites for ringnecks.  They understood when I explained it from that angle.  It will be coming by summer I was assured.  I like to try and buy items throughout the year as I do for other things I do fishing and big game hunting.  I got an immediate call from the Tulalip store explaining this situation after I talked with two people at the corporate office. I was also told that they would make sure to have the stuff in that we will buy.  It never hurts to ask and they did realize the mistake.  This way I can ship for free and enjoy that part of it.  Everyone I talked with and that left a message was more than wonderful about the situation.

I was in there yesterday.  Underwhelming to say the least.  Every other Cabela's I have been in had an ample stock of waterfowl gear year round.  One little shelf with the same set of decoys on both sides of it.  Topped with a whole aisle of MOJOS!  I was like who did this?!  You can't even use battery operated decoys in this state but they have a whole aisle full of them.   :yike: :dunno:

Compared to other Cabales stores it was very much geared for outdoorsy type hiking, camping, backpacking adventures as opposed to the hunting and fishing.  Store layout was sort of a nightmare as well.

I am glad there is sort of a one stop shop.  THey carry most major brands as well.  Better than the picked over single brand stuff we have left up here most times.

If you guys do not see it in the store why not order it online and have it delivered to the store for free shipping, then go pick it up when it gets there and shop for the items that are in the store  :twocents:

I talked to the powers that be there tonight. They will have a full inventory of waterfowl gear in July. I also mentioned to them about the motorized decoys. Corporate sent them in the stock package. They will be replaced soon.

I've only been to Springfield and Lacey Cabelas and I just happen to be driving by them.  I too am very disappointed in their retail stores.  I am however impressed with their catalog.    I am unimpressed with wholesale sports and sportsmans warehouse and bi-mart is by far my favorite store other than they never have what you want besides shotgun shells.  wal-mart also has good prices on shotgun shells.
