I knew it would be snowing in the area i shed hunt, but I had to go see for myself that it wasnt huntable.  Just like last weekend, too much snow.  Instead of just coming home this time we searched below the snow line to find a place to shed hunt.  Got a few more, mine are the big white, and small brown.  Buddy found a good one.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Now that's even better, being that you were in the brush! I spent about 2 1/2 hours tramping around in the brush today and didn't find a thing. I did find a good trail intersection in a good feeding area with tons of fresh deer sign, and couldn't help myself, I had to set up a trail cam. Now at least if I can get pictures of a couple of bucks, still with their antlers, I will have an excuse as to why I didn't find any!

I tell you its SO much tougher over here,  those two I found Saturday I found in the first half hour walking, the forky today I walked from morning tell dark, in areas full of sign.  Blacktail here have a messed up trail system, you'll be walking on a heavy beaten trail and it ends at a solid wall of crap.  Just cant figure out where them things drop them.    :chuckle:

It really sucks up here because of the snow and the ice storm that we had. I don't think you had it as bad down south? There are trees, tree tops, and limbs EVERYWHERE. What used to be deer trails, or old logging roads, are now covered with crap and you have to detour around. Real pain. But the deer are still there, I saw all the sign. Spent some time looking around himalayan blackberries that have been flattened by the weather. The deer have been feeding heavily on them so I thought I might find an antler in them or around the edges, but no dice. Just hoping to get some pictures now, of what's out there. I'll check it Friday.

Great sheds.  I understand a bench buck to be a mule/blackie cross but I see you guys saying benchleg is that the same thing.  If so where does that term come from.

:yeah: Yea it's sometimes frustrating when a "blacktail highway " just disapears.
Artman I saw the dog box in the back of you're truck. Is your dog a shed hunter?

Turner she is in training, she has found non unassisted yet.  She loves playing with them at home and I'm working with her.  So far when I see one I tell her to find her bone, and she does, but I've already seen it first.  She's young and hope she progresses though.  Thanks 400.

Decided to head over Sunday just for the day to look for some sheds.  Had a good time and found a few.  Once again my buddy schooled me, I found 3 and he found 7, mine are the 3 on the left again in the tailgate pic.  Found my best deer shed to date though.
