Soooo long anacortes salmon derby!


i spent the last 3 weeks getting my boat updated and upgraded, new high-deff gps chartplotter/fish finder, new electric downriggers, new reels/rods, my engine is running the best it ever has....... i blew every penny i had (at the moment) on getting my boat ready for the derby...

i had the outdrive off 2 seasons ago (but hour-wise, 15 hours ago) by the local mercruiser shop, and everything was great..., last week i did the lower unit job, (and im a certified mechanic), i put it back on and my engine was  running the best it ever has....

B U T   T H E N . . . . .

i hear a rattle-rattle-rattle-rattle-rattle-rattle-rattle-rattle..................................................

now that the engine is running flawlessly the gimble bearing, u-joints, and engine mounts need to be replaced, which means the engine needs to be yanked out, the outdrive taken off, and even though its only 200$ in parts, its a 3 day job....... either i take it to the shop, or i have to borrow the neighbors forklift and bash my brains out with the biggest wrench i have.....................

Sorry to hear it sounds like you were really looking forward to it. It happens to all of us some times.

I know you feel stuff sucks right now but it will get better.

Dude,,relax,,have a brew or 6    You think you have it bad?? HAHAHA How would you like to have your boat in the shop for a whole YEAR     Thats what happen to me a few years ago..I missed the best damn salmon fishing that Westport had to offer in like 20 years  It was SOOOOO bad that I was even thinking of taking my 8' lake boat with a 5 hp out and fish it. On the bar  ..

How many folks on here remember that??
