Finishing up my first decoy
« on: July 26, 2008, 07:25:43 AM »
So its been a little slow in the waterfowl department lately, thought id post one of my recent projects ive been working on. I got the idea from another website and started making my own goose decoy using the foam burlap mastic method and i am almost done with it, i am the sanding/primer paint stage. i think it looks pretty good, but im curious to see how it handles the abuse test, i was going to upload pics on here, but i cant find the cable to connect the camera to the pc-hopefully ill find it soon, i think it would be very cool to decoy a critter over something that i made. If it proves worthy i will be making several more, and will tackle making some full body decoys.

K found it, wew been busy the last few days, hopefully this works i posted it as an attachment. In this pic it needs its final coating of mastic/light sanding, I will take a better pic when its done. I think it will hold up fairly well, very solid but light.

Wow. Very cool, looks like a lot of work though... It would be neat taking a bird from your own handmade deke'. Be sure to show us the final with paint!
