SMACKDOWN: Gun rights prevail as WA Supremes deny Seattle’s appeal

 :yeah:

It is absolutely imperative that hunters and gunowners get out and vote for candidates that support our sports. Please remind us when you think it's time to pound the drums for his election.

Seattle bitterly vows to lobby for erosion of state preemption

Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes evidently cannot take “no” for an answer.

The flimsy sham of ‘public safety’ in gun prohibition argument

In the wake of Thursday’s gun rights victory in Washington State, as the final legal nail was driven into Seattle’s gun ban coffin by the State Supreme Court’s rejection of its appeal in Winnie Chan v. City of Seattle, Mayor Mike McGinn and City Attorney Pete Holmes played the “children and families” card.

Back when I first got my permit here in WA I think it was a concealed weapon permit not that it matters. It has been over 20 years but I remember back then they had a question as to why you NEEDED one. Does that sound faniliar to anyone.

That was just some butt plug throwing his weight around. There was never, far as I know, any statutory requirement to answer why you needed a pistol...and I've been packing for more than 40 years. This is and always has been a shall issue state for as long as I can remember, primarily because of Article 1, Section 24 of the state constitution. I never in my life had to fill out a questionnaire to get a carry permit or CPL. I'm from around here.

Th first time I got a permit, the guy in Tacoma asked me if I knew how to use a pistol.  I said "sure, want me to tear it apart for you and put it back together?"  Thus endeth HIS learning moment for the day, not mine.   :chuckle:

They changed it to "concealed pistol license" several years ago, to narrow it down so people wouldn't be packing knives or saps or other "weapons" concealed.

These jerks are going to troop to Olympia in 2013 to get the law changed.  I plan to be there to stop them. What about you?

I'm pretty lucky my state rep and i are on the same page for many issues, this being one of them. I vote, and write politicians.  It is also why i Swore to never live in the counties that i grew up in King, and Snohomish counties. There is really not place to retreat to so we have to fight these  brain dead politicians.
