Hey Hunters and Fishermen and women,
I put out a thread yesterday regarding the Sportsman's Heritage Act, which has made it through committee and will come to the floor for debate and a vote of the US House.
http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php?topic=93475.0There's not been a single response since I posted. This is one of the most important issues for us in front of Congress and we have an opportunity to make sure our US Representatives aware that we care whether or not we'll get to continue hunting on our public lands into the future. If this bill does not pass, it will open the door to the loss of hunting privileges on much of our public lands, lands for which you and I and our fathers have all paid.
I realize that it seems like there's a new issue every few days or once a week. This is not going to change as our country becomes increasingly complacent about hunting and 2nd Amendment issues.
The present administration would like to see us sportsmen asleep at the wheel as they change our way of life to suit their agenda. We need to stay vigilant and make ourselves known to our elected officials when anything that supports what we love and hold dear appears on the docket. Please follow the above link. Learn about the Sportsman's Heritage Act, and contact your US Representative with your views. Our hunting heritage and our children's hunting future is at stake. And, stay alert to these types of bills and to bills which would limit or remove our privileges and rights. It is imperative that we contact our elected officials every time an issue confronts us.
