I will add a photo of a decent buck from last fall in Idaho. We packed this single unguided hunter into a drop camp in the bottom of the large drainage. To best hunt this area alone, you need to climb the ridge on one side and glass across to the other side. Once you locate a good buck then you need to come off the ridge and carefully hunt up the other side into the area where your buck is living. It's tall steep country, even though we packed this guy into camp on horses I know he worked for his animal. Not a huge buck but it was his best ever and he was a happy camper.

Now my point, I have packed in groups of 2 to 6 hunters into this same drainage. The good hunters usually at least see some good bucks and many kill good bucks, the guys who are not too good of hunters usually complain that there are not many deer and the country is too steep as we are packing them out.

The guys who see game will likely come back again for another hunt with us, the guys who thought I put them in a poor location I usually never hear from again.  :twocents:

Just remember to crop out recognizable features of any pics you post. :twocents:

If he is a member here and mods get a positive ID I would hope these lowlife tactics would get his card pulled. Lets not let this scum ruin a great thread.

Hirshey, sounds like your making a few people out there jelouse of your achievements, just shake it off, over the years ive had plenty of that kind of stuff happen. Theres allways going to be that kind of so called hunter out there looking for a short cut. Theres no substitute for hard scouting and miles traveled.
Its all about the bone baby!

Thanks HeadHunter.  That's very kind.

Bone, that's just what the doctor ordered! :) Nice photo and beautiful deer!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Glad to see the thread back on track...  :) Great Buck Hirshey you guys sure get it done!

Its sad that some folks just dont get it. Hell... the scenery is at least half the reason to hunt in deep, it angers me that folks who want to STEAL ruin my ability to share some of the splendor that is the backcountry or enjoy the sights of others through their photos... what a crock!!!

Ahhh well.... Heres a few of mine and hunting pards all archery....  You'll notice in a couple pics there are some landmarks.... They are either gone now or in areas that its not a big secret where the
PHOTO  :chuckle: was taken.

And just for the LURKERS....  :chuckle:  Both are BackCountry bucks... one late season BT strapped out whole to a packframe ( wont ever try that again!!) and the other an early archery Muley. Due to camera failures with both I was unable to get field shots  :(  That sucked but I guess the memories will have to do    BTW.... if your NOT a lurker but just like to figure out where pics were taken have at..... Just make sure when your doing your scouting to knock on the front door for a beer :chuckle:

This is the only animal I've killed with a bow and the only thing I've killed in a wilderness area. Obviously, it's about the smallest spike one could ever hope of seeing, but it's still a wilderness bow kill.

Love this thread by the way. There are some great bucks in this thread. Very cool stuff.
