Curious as to what you find out.  I saw one done on that Alaskas Taxidermy show a year ago, but haven't heard too much else about them.  That's on my list of wants.

I wanna know how they put it all back together again and whether they have to wash off the butter. I don't care how big it is, it's going in my belly.

I agree its most likely freeze dried. I knew a guy on a fishing forum that did taxidermy work and had a freeze drier, he showed some dungeness crabs he had done they were really cool it made me want one.

Something like doing that, I am quite sure I would not send it in to have it freeze dried, better off to take each piece apart and remove the meat and then treat it like you would a fish, either a fish tan, borax, or DA. Then put it all back together and epoxie joints back. Then repaint it.

Its not a Puget Sound King is it? You might send Charlie a PM.

you bet. Drop me a line, I have been the best in the field since the 90s.  The one on tv was nice work if a reproduction is what you are after.  My work is not drying a dead crab on a board like 99% of the other mounts on the market...

G 31 Nice ak penn bear, north side, possibly from Unimak?  Refreshing to see hunters still exist in the lower 48!

It is my email. No web site and fly under the radar up here in ak....  To tell the truth, I did see one other mount that is worthy of praise, a taxer out of wa won a tax compitition a couple of years back but was a one off effort.  I stopped counting mounts at 500 of so,

A pic of my most famous mount can be found at
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/24/sarah-palin-spends-last-d_n_244254.html

The last 6 govs up here have displayed my work on their desks, guess only one became famous?

We have an AK guy who meets the boats when they come in. They're boxed and flown down to our warehouse in Seattle.

We get reds and yellow, if that makes any sense.
