Tikka T3 SS lite in 7mm topped with a Leupy.  Lightest combo I could find.

Good combo there for sure.  There are many choices in the 6.5 pound or less class.
My go to lightweight is a remington mtn rifle in 260 rem.

Custom savage 110 in 7 rm. topped with Vortex 6.5-24, right around 9 pounds with bipods, and a Custom Howa 338 wm topped with a nikon 4.5-14 right around 9 pounds with bipods. The little extra weight really helps with holding the gun still and hec whats a couple pounds in the pack.

If I take the spotting scope, I'll probably grab my son's Marlin XL7 in 270win, or the other son's Tika T3 30-06, as they are a couple pounds lighter than my Ruger. If I don't take the scope, My Ruger 77 is my go-to rifle.

Ordered a new Kimber Montucky in 280 Ackley last week.  Not sure which scope I'm going to put on it yet, but have penty of time to decide because the lead time on a new Montana is currently 4-6 months.

Model 600's in either 243 or 308, or a Tikka in 2506.  Though most of the time I don't notice the weight that much and pack my bigger M700.  Or if I really want to go a long ways, an Encore in 7-08, 15" pistol....

My hunting buddy shoots a 7mm Rem Mag and it kicks like a frickin mule. My .300 win mag is a pup compared to that blasted rifle. It's brutal.

I don't even notice the kick on my Rem 7mm mag even with syn stock.  Is your Encore a rifle or pistol Jackelope?
