Places To Pattern Your Shotgun on the Westside
« on: March 26, 2012, 02:36:50 PM »
Hello Everyone...I brought this question up last year and I am going to do it again. Does anyone know of a range or public land in King County (or close by) that you can pattern your gun with turkey loads. As of right now the Renton F&G club let's you use their pattern board, but only out to about 28 yards. As of right now that is the only range that I know of that allows hunting loads. I was hoping to see what the patterns look like at 40 yards. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

How far are you willing to drive?

Up to an hour from the Issaquah area would be ideal.

You could try asking the Issaquah range.  They have some extra charges for shooting shotguns and some wierd rules that I couldn't figure out, but it seems like they might let you pattern there.

Isn't there any public land or timber company land up toward the pass off of I-90? Seems like there has to be a place up that way that you could blast away with a shotgun at 40 yards.....  :dunno:

Your talking about Hanson Creek.  It has been turned into a trail head parking lot but there are littel spots all the way up the road that people shoot on.  I was just looks at Renton Fish and Gun Club.  They have a shotgun range.  Talk a look http://www.rfgc.org/index.php

Cascade Rifle, Ravensdale.  Set your target 1 to 200 yards.

200 yard poke on a bird.....think one day shot and chokes will ever make that happen? I don't know a ton about bird hunting but would think a 40 or 50 yard shot would be a loooonng poke. Just throwing that out there......think it will ever happen with shot/choke advancements?
