Crying Wolf
« on: March 26, 2012, 09:54:41 PM »
You know, this movie almost won me over on the valid points it attempted to make... but when you use religious bigotry and selfishness as a reason to try to proclaim domination over the earth, that's when you lose alot of us non-Christians. I don't hate or discriminate against Christianity, but even I know when someone is being very Christian, and by that, i mean completely un-Christ like. I'd like to see a wolf documentary that comes from the other side that doesn't flood the movie with self-righteousness and utter boasting with a false sense of deservement. That movie oozed with religious zealotry and agenda.

If you want to get religious about it, though, I suggest reading up on the Catholic story of St. Francis and the wolf of Gubbio. Not that it applies to the situation, but it goes to show how Christianity thought of wolves before puritans started demonizing them and twisting God's words to reflect their hate.
We would be better off to not have been, but since we're here, it's our responsibility to exist without standing in natures way, It is not in our DNA to mandatorily become environmentally destructive juggernauts!

I agree that they were a little over the top on the religious stuff.  Biology and religion are seperate conversations in my opinion.  Old Europeans (not just christians) had good reason to fear wolves.  In Europe wolves killed (still do) people with mundane regularity.

We can certainly agree on this topic! Look! Progress! :) I have to say, though... "God's Will" gets used on both sides... that is where I just couldn't stand it anymore in Wolfer's (Cartier's) facebook page... when EITHER side tries to justify wolf establishment or extirpation by means of religion... it makes me terribly sad..
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Religion is personal choice, not a means to rule the world.

Humanure and those others that are turned off by the religion in Crying Wolf.   Just watch Yellowstone is Dead by Scott Rockholm.   It covers the same material about how the PR money was used, improper paperwork was filed, was suppose to be a pilot project, etc. etc. with lots of Jim Beers (retired US Fish and Wildlife).  Anyways, it has no religion in it and is very factual.  It's amazing the wolves are allowed to continue to propogate with all the illegal things that were done to reintroduce them.  When somebody or group gets enough money to fight it in court then it will stop, but unfortunately none of us has enough money and in the mean time the wolves are multiplying like rats.
I think we should also reintroduce the black plague, smallpox and some other diseases we have made almost extinct.  All those are natural too so why don't we bring them back.  They would do very well in the cities and then the city folks would understand what the rural folks are putting up with in the wolf introduction.  If it's natural it's got to be good.  Right?

Not to be cruel, but we are experiencing a vast over-population in humans. Too many humans, too little resources. Thats why I'm pro-abortion. Whatever helps keep the numbers from rising.

Is there a link to view the movie?

Not true, the world is not experiencing a vast overpopulation of humans. This has been spewed forth for years by groups that want a one world order/government. Some populations are declining. Take an airplane from WA to TX and look out the  window and you will wonder at how much land is undeveloped and uninhabited by humans. Get out of the city and off the freeway and have car trouble and you will wish there was more humans around. Our resources are vast and under utilized. The US easily grows more grain than is necessary and finds new ways to use it, corn syrup, ethanol, cattle feed etc. This is just one example.

"Whatever keeps the numbers from rising"
Really! You sound like you would support computer lists on people that the "one world order" folks want to use to cut the human population in half. You have said that you have a Savage 110 in 30-06, so my friend you are on one of these lists.

Humans are NOT the scourge of the earth. Doom and gloom will not win the day.

I guess we disagree then.

The gun is a friends btw. I am looking to buy a 30-30 lever action soon, though. In tat case, i'll have someone else register it. I am NOT for one-world government... I just don't see a problem with losing a bit of the living, breathing pieces of defacating meat that takes up the government aid offices with 7 or more children trying to get that gov'ment check.

If we grow more grain than we need, then why are we leveling forests in S. America? Here's a flick for YOU to watch,  it's called We Feed the World. http://www.we-feed-the-world.at/en/film.htm
