check it out... saw the add in field and stream....

some of these deals are just rediculous........ ive never tried buying from this site, but they are selling military grade sniper rifles (Remington M700 AAC-SD AICS) for 55$??? smith and wesson 500mag for 35$????

is this real? have any of you guys tried this?? i mean, they had a benelli super nova sell for $4.86.......(look at the past auctions link)

these prices just dont add up to me.... seems kind of shady...

Yeah there is lots of places like that. Haven't seen much for guns on them before. What you do is buy bids, each time you bid it goes up 1 cent in the auction. However they bids cost a lot more then a Penney! So say something sold for 10.00 that is 1,000 bids to get it to that point since each bid only goes up 1 cent at a time. I don't know what each bid costs on that site but most times they are pretty spend. They make lots of money of sites like that.

I know of a few that are like .60 cents a bid.

Give it a try and let us know.  If it was .55 cents or $5,500.

I heard one charges $1 per bid.  $10,000 that is a hell of a racket.

G4P  has options  a lower end one is 100 bids for 80$ and big bundle is like 1000 bids for $680

Why do they beep adding time to the auction time, I looked at the sniper riffle and when the time goes to zero it goes back 22 seconds :dunno: :dunno:

Still its a racket.  Only the buyer and the seller benefit.  The actual winner gets a good deal depending on how many times they bidded. The seller makes a huge profit and everyone else gets hosed, spending $80 on nothing.

Its part of the raquet, if I was going to bid I would wait till the very end and try to "snipe" with one bid and there are tons of people out there with the same thought lets say there is about 9 others.  That means everytime the timer gets close to 0, they get another $10.

I have spent a ton of time on penny auctions. And the only real winner is the auction site. The person that wins the auction might have got a good deal, but they might not have.
Some of these sites are scams also. They have fake bidders to run the auction up and you might be the only one bidding, you might not have a chance to win at all. Then some you win and they don't send what you won.

I have found a few legit sites and done well at them. But think of it this way. You might buy the largest bid pack, say 1000 bids for 600 dollars, and you might not win a thing with those bids, the person you are bidding against just might be the biggest bidder on the site.

And 55 dollars is 5500 bids. At .60 cents a piece= 3300 dollars. Plus the 55 for the auction and then shipping. Now the most you woul dhave bid on this auction is 2750 bids, cause you can't overbid yourself.

If you have questions about penny auctions you can ask me. I have spent a ton of time researching them.

I bought a pack of 100 bids from quibids.com and had the grand illusion of buying an Ipad or something for like $5....

Here's the deal...and the G4P is the same deal. They do not NEED to have fake bidders running up the bids. People will do that just fine. Its a lot like gambling, say with slot machines.

The reason the clock resets, is its supposed to mimic a live auction... like the auctioneer is saying, "going once, going twice" then someone bids, then the auctioneer hits it again.

Its tough... and alluring. I've seen IPADS sell for $5... I've also seen Ipads sell for $134.00.... So, you get in early and "might" score something if you catch folks off guard, but, you may be screwed...cause if the wrong bunch is bidding against you the price could go to 100.00...which is 10,000 bid! Quibids sold that many bids for $6000.00!!!! SO...quibids boughts a $600 toy and sold it for say, $100... but made $5600.00 on the auction!!! Some lucky guy, now and again, does get a good deal, but its rarer than normal.

Summary...I spend $60 for 100 bids. I won 2 Wal mart $25 gift cards for like $4 and $2... and a leatherman skeletool for 1 cent!!! After shipping and such, I spent about $78 for about $100 worth of stuff... I dont feel too bad... :chuckle:
