Padding your stats!
« on: March 28, 2012, 09:35:21 PM »
Is it OK to blatantly lie to people about how many fish you are catching? Than try and pass off 1 fish as multiple? I dont think so but I am starting to see it more and more with social network sites. Your thought on this.

Yea its one thing to lie to your buddies but showing off pictures to the entire world and trying to pass off 1 fish as 2 just bugs the hell out of me!

Well, there's no law against it so I guess it's OK.   :dunno:

I'd be more upset about it if it were my buddie's lying to me, complete strangers I would expect it.

Course if I were going to lie, I'd be saying the opposite (like Miles).

Like the sign above Bass ProShop says, "Welcome hunters, fishermen, and other liars."

Does it really matter how many fish some random guy caught.

Only time I hate the stories is *censored* like, "oh yeah there's no deer in here, just one buck and everybody knows where he's at"  :yike: really and he's still alive and that doe with two fawns that I just saw weren't really deer, but some kind of hybrid wolf!?

If you want an honest answer from a total stranger, than I would say it depends on the type of fish and how well you know the person.

Expect nothing from anyone, except for the unexpected...

There is some real fish stories out there! I will tell most people I have caught a few and never say my real numbers. Fish and bears seem to be the most crazy stories and weights :bash:

:chuckle: I like to mess with people as well. Someone will see blood on one of my rigs and ask what we got. I will tell them a 5 point. 4 tits and a tail :chuckle: Some will ask about fish as well when I pack them out of a hole. They will say, hey what did you catch them with I say a net :chuckle: Or what did you use for bait I will tell them not to tell anyone one else and they get all excited until I tell them a magnet for steelheads :chuckle:

People always over estimate weights, and exaggerate how many they caught. When we fish you often hear people say how many they caught, I hardy ever can keep track of how many fish I caught especially when it gets over 10, which in ocean fishing is nothing. This world is full of BSer's, something I can't fricken stand
