Arrow and broadhead test
« on: July 30, 2008, 09:14:21 PM »
Ok, tonight I did a test, 2" vanes against 4" vanes, Muzzy 100's against Muzzy mx3 100's.  I put both broadheads on both arrows and shot about 40 shots at 30 yards.... The results....

Any combination shot exactly the same!  My broadhead target is really beat up, so I used
a small clover bloom as the bulls eye. Below are the last two shots, the 4" vane has the
standard Muzzy, the 2" vane has the MX3.  There was no wind, so I would imagine the MX3 may have out performed the standard if there was a cross wind.

My conclusion, I will not be stripping off all of my 4" vanes, but I will have a half dozen or so
2" vanes for windy days in Wyoming.  I may switch to the MX3's for elk because of the wider cut, but I will not hesitate to use up the standard Muzzys that I already have.

I hope this helps anybody who had the same questions I had.

Hey Viking,
I talked to a guy tonight who asked me about FOBS.
He also said they demonstrate outstanding accuracy.

Interesting info, thanks for sharing.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Yea, but look at the difference in penetration.

Yeah, I notice that too, but my target is so worn out that some shots went almost all the way through, and others went in a normal amount using standards or MX3's, I would like to see if there is a penetration differnce or not using a new target.
