I picked up a SOG folding handsaw on camofire not too long ago for under 20$  works well and the lock is solid. keep your eyes on camofire as they come up there fairly often.

Those folding-type pruning saws would fill the bill for small jobs.  For firewood cutting, I'd look at one of the throw away handsaws, I think are called "Sharktooth" saws.  Pretty compact, and they have herkin' big teeth!  Just before I retired, a lot of the carpenters were buying them to carry in their tool boxes.  Not much call for them on jobs any more, but handy sometimes.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I use a gerber sliding saw for trimming branches and stuff when I climb, it does a pretty good job.

I also have a Wyoming saw for cutting bigger stuff, its a little bit heavier but works a lot better.  It breaks down so it doesnt take up a lot of space.

Outdoor Edge griz-saw is within your $30 budget and is very packable at just over 5 oz.

I have a Gerber Gator II, folding 21" bow saw with carrying case. I think I paid $36 at Sportco for it. The Gator I is the 15" version.

Get a Wyoming Saw. They can cut through a skull plate in no time, and they work great for cutting fire wood. You won't regret it.
