A Couple Saskatchewan Birds finished…
« on: April 14, 2012, 07:08:17 PM »
Here are a couple birds I brought back from last September's Saskatchewan hunt to have a buddy and me do a mount with.  Did something a little different, at least as far as I've seen.  We combined two different snow goose subspecies into one mount.  Got the Eaglehead Blue standing there getting ready to preen himself while the Ross goose is banking hard above and inside of him mouth open talking like they do.  Take a look at that Ross’s beak.  Old Bird, heavily warted.    Anyways I'm pretty pleased with how this mount turned out. The pic's were taken sitting on my kitchen table.  It will move to it permanent location soon.

Nice job Tim, looks like a lot of work but it also pays off big time doing this yourself as far as experience and dollars too.  Now if I could just get that Turkey this season you can practice with that big boy too, just kidding.

Thanks for the good words.  One thing I will say is doing your own mounts is stressful.  These are birds #2 and #3 as far as doing it yourself goes for me.  I suppose through repetition this must get easier.  I have a lot of respect for those who do this for a living after doing a few myself.
