Field photos and notes 08/02/08
« on: August 02, 2008, 10:38:21 PM »
Spent this evening up looking for a Bear.  I think that's about the only thing I didn't find.  I saw a doe with 2 fawns in a clear cut and than when I was getting ready to head out I came around the corner and almost hit a Doe standing in the middle of the road.  She was one of the biggest blacktail does I've seen here in Washington.

Where I was the Salmonberries, Trailing Blackberries, and the Thimbleberries were all ripe.  Saw ton's of Salmonberries where I was along with the Blackberries.  The Cascara and the Salal berries are still green.

Checked out a new area and came across an old peel.  It was peeled about 12 feet up the tree.

About 20 yards farther down on the other side of the road a ran across a peel that looked to be from early this spring.  The sap was still flowing on this one.

Same system of roads and area found 2 more peels.  One that looked to be made early this spring.  This one was pretty shaded and looks a lot darker than it is.

Also another older one.

Also ran across this guy on my way out.  I thought about shooting it, but wasn't sure.  So I let it go.  I don't really like the idea of people releasing their pets.  I was only about 6 or 7 feet from it when I took the picture.  If I would have had I coat I probably could have caught it.

That sucks bout the release of the bunny...

I was up in snoqualmie last week and someone released their german shepard up there...at least I am pretty sure of it. He was out in the middle of now where, no collar, etc...nice looking dog. Told the ranger bout it...he was looking into it.

Good photos..better luck next time. ;)
