Boaters Safety Course
« on: April 26, 2012, 01:56:24 PM »
Just finished the on-line course, holy crap what a pain in the butt course.  Easy, but just time consuming, maybe three hrs start to finish.  The cheesy videos and reiteration of material over and over again...   :bash:  But I am done and now I am ahead of the game for next years mandatory requirement for my age group....

I'll have to do it one of these days.  It will be required for me next year.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Yeah it is kind of a pain but will hopefully keep some of the idiots off the boat launches and fishin spots. I did mine several years ago weather it was required or not but being a former Coastie made that test kind of elementary really !!

Oh and good job getting that card, I'll be much safer when I ride with you now !!  ;D

I got my card 6 years ago. Its card #478.

I was bored one night so I busted it out.

IIRC I don't actually need it until next year. :chuckle:

The wife, both daughters and I are scheduled to take it on Saturday.  Pretty much kills a day taking the live course, but I figured with the whole family it would be easier?  They aren't too stoked about it either, but at least we'll all be current.  Figured it wasn't a bad idea for the kids that are on boats a lot too, they always want to run the boat anyway!

i took it online about 5 or 6 years ago.  seems like most of it was oriented toward the jetski crowd.

can't say i'm any better off for it, but i have the card now.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Yea, still oriented towards Jet Skis....  Nope, not thinking it helped me out any, half sleeping through the blittle videos probably didn't help me either...  Oh well it is done and I do not have to do it again.  $40 bucks later...
