score?
« on: April 30, 2012, 05:35:41 PM »
My great uncle shot this a few years back and had it in his garage.   A blacktail from the Packwood unit.  Any idea what it would score?   oops sorry

i cant see any thing  :chuckle:

wow thats a great deer, with its width mass an extras i think it could be in the 130-140 class for sure. it would be a crime to deduct anything from a old blacktail  :twocents:

BIG and unique for sure, love a Blacktail with a lot of character.  For that reason I don't think it would score well however, but once in a lifetime buck!
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

I would have to disagree. That buck has everything. I think it would score very well. Assuming thats a 5 gal bucket, I'd say he's over 20" wide, heavy and good points. He has great g4s. It is a wierd angle looking down on it, so its kind of hard to guess tine lengths, but I'd say you've got a whopper there.

He is 99 years old and loved to hunt.  Most of the area that I hunt was passed down from him through my cousins and father.  We thought it would be nice if he qualified for a WA record, that would make him happy.  Another family member is having it mesured I think.  I will let you know what it scores.

That's a very good idea and an awesome way to honor him and the animal.  Trophy regardless of the score.
