I MUST BE CURSED
« on: April 30, 2012, 09:45:51 PM »
I thought this year was going to be a good year for turkey. Started off the year by taking my15 year old step sister out for the youth turkey first thing in the morning gobbles everywhere but to make a long story short called in 4 toms and waiting for what seemed like hours for the bird that she wanted to take to come out of strut for her to shot if finely did and she bagged him. 10in beard 1in spurs nice bird for a first bird. With work and my kids birthday during the opener of turkey season i finely got to get on this last sunday. I thought with the season being open for a few weeks i walked 8 miles in figured not to many people would go that far for a bird. found some birds that were talking and got set up. had to toms coming in to the decoys i needed about 15 more yard for them to seal the deal and two guys on dirt bike come riding right down in between me and my decoys and scared the birds off. to top it off there riding up in a place the is walk in access only. couldn't find another bird the rest of the day.

Doesn't sound bad to me. I've had a deer blow the deel for me, passed on a jake, had a hen blow the deal, and had a few mornings they just didn't want to play. Frustrating but fun.

I would take the deer and the hen messing up my Hunt then two dumb ass kids riping up the mountains on dirt bikes up in a area that's no motorized vehicles.

Plus you had a chance to bag two dumb ass kids ripping up the mountains on dirt bikes in a area that's no motorized vehicles, but chose to pass on the shot (stand your ground does not apply) ...
