I think the 120 gr Barnes would be fine in the .280 Rem. My reloading manual doesn't list the TSX or TTSX but it has the older style bullet. I would think that the length of the 120gr Barnes would be similar to a cup and core bullet of 140 gr variety.........so it should shoot fine out of the rifle.
I would use the 110 if I were looking for a deer bullet and/or a low recoil load. But I want something that will be good for elk and that's why I want the 130. Not that I don't think the 110 would kill an elk, I just think the 130 would do it better. A deer surely wouldn't even come close to stopping a 110 out of a 270.
