Eating a fish out of Vancouver Lake huh? You have more guts (at least at the moment) than I do!  :chuckle:

With that said, anyone have any success fishing for carp out of Vancouver Lake? Not sure what works for them there.

That thing looks like it was dead for a while... I found a gill net down there one time full of carp, 1 sturgeon 1 nice cat and a couple small bass.  We cut the net all up and let go as many fish as we could.  On our way out some Russians started yelling at us and threw trash.  When we found the net it was in the bushes already and we could see the guys out in their boat watching us.  As far as what works there to catch carp LEGAL is corn and or worms.

One year I was in Illinois on a Whitetail hunt and the land owner stopped by our camp and took us to a bar. They were having a "all you can eat" Carp feed. We eat and drank till we DAMN near passed out and it was very good. The next year I kept some Carp from Banks Lake, battered and fried it up just like the bar did and let me tell you it wasn't fit to eat.

Maybe it was just the time of year or the bar cooked a different kind of Carp. Not really sure but I will not be trying this again for awhile.

The best part of it was when I packed them up to the campground fillet table, nobody wanted me to put them on the table till they got all their fish off and out of the way. lol I think they all felt sorry for us because they thought we couldn't catch anything but Carp. lol One of the guys even offered us some of his Walleye.
