Ted Bear is back
« on: May 19, 2012, 10:23:06 PM »
First 2 pictures are of a little bear we had hanging around last year and he's back this year after his winter nap. looks really good for this time of year (2nd 2 picture's) after the 2 last pictures he went down the road and scared the shorts off our neighbor when she opened the blinds to see what was outside the sliding glass door and he was staring at her from about 3 feet. Last picture is a couple bucks I hope to see back this summer always like to get muley and whitetail in the same picture.

We have had our place there for 43 years now and only seen 1 bear ever well 3 a sow and cubs and that was many years ago then about 4 years ago I put game cameras up to watch things while not there and see how many deer we have at different times of the year. I can tell you this I have learned a lot about the deer (what they like to eat changes during the year I feed 5 different items) but that we have had bear there each year. Last year 2 different bear and a cougar I'm sure the cougar was either the 1 shot on the last day of cougar season or was the 1 caught living under a deck in the middle of Winthrop in Jan. This bear was shot a month later on opening day of deer season across the river from us.

That's a great looking bear. Have they done any damage to your tripod feeder?
I just started using the same one last fall and am worried about using it through
spring and summer, going over next weekend so i guess i'll find out.

Sako they have never touched the feeder other than to try and look at what's inside but all I use in it is Purina deer chow which they won't eat. I'm sure if I put some of the other feed I put in the trough they would knock it over. I don't even have a battery in it anymore to spin the wheel the deer have figured out they can just lick the spinner and get feed whenever they want. If you don't want them doing that so your feed last longer you might have to make a better cage because they broke the one that came on it within a couple month's.

That is good info thank you, i also have been using the purina deer chow.
Some of it has corn mixed in and some is just pellets.
