I drew the archery cow tag.  Now I have to change all my plans around.  Was planning on hiking or packing into the wilderness in Little Naches.  Will be 3rd year, hunting a different unit.  Now I'll have to learn how to road hunt ;).  Actually have some ideas.  Hunted the area for late season once.

No just me on this one. I live 10 min. away. I have got 4 elk in the same unit. 2 true spikes and 2 cows (before they changed it to true spike)  If you dont get a cow in this unit there is something wrong.  :chuckle:

What's the hunting pressure like up there during early season, especially with the spike only regs?  I'm basically starting from scratch...again.  Last year hunted Little Naches for first time.  Year before, Spike in Bumping early, year before cow in Bumping early cowiche late, year before Daughter was born so only hunted late season cowiche, year before Malaga early Sept, Naneum week 1 archery and then again late season, year before NE corner rifle.

Suspect I'll hunt Naneum 5-6000 feet range.

Pretty much no pressure, at least once you get farther than 50yds from the road. If a person eats a cow tag up there they should take up golf.

Come to find out, I was actually drawn for Bumping cow.  Swear when I looked on website before it said Colockum.  Guess I'll miss out on all those cows in Colockum.

206 got drawn for clockum rifle cow.  Hunted 328 a couple years 2-3 decades ago, but thinking about 329 this year.

It will be a different environment this year with the cows being chased for months.  They will all be having there tounges hangin out bout rifle season.
