You shot the first photo at 1/8th of a second and f3.5.  That's a relatively fast f-stop so I am wondering what your iso was for the shot?  If it was set high at 800 or 1600, there is not much you can do.  You need to be shooting at 1/60th or 1/125th of a second to have a shot at getting these sharp.

The second and third photos were shot at f4.1...not the fastest f-stop.  I'm wondering why the camera or you wouldn't shoot at your fastest f-stop?  Probably auto mode?

Two things could help these photos.  You need a faster shutter speed than 1/8th.  The only way to get that is to bump up your iso to its maximum speed.  I'm not sure if your camera has image stabilization, but if it does that would also help.  The only way you make this photo is with a fast lens that has image stabilization.  I hope you plan on buying a camera or lens with f2.8 and IS...  Sometimes there is just not enough light.  Good try though.

Practice makes perfect.  There is a reason why guys think about spending 6,000 for a lens.  The lower the F stop the better for low light.  Otherwise its tripod time and hopefully they are standing there staring at you.

An idiot proof camera?

Just kidding mulehunter!!

Photography is another gear intensive pastime I have a passion for and have WAY too much money tied up in.

The best website I know of for camera reviews is this one:  http://www.dpreview.com/

Good luck with your search...Jeff

It depends on if you want a point and shoot or an slr.  If you think you want good quality and are going to get into it, get a dslr.  It's crazy how many good deals I see on the local craigslist.  However, the best deals and fair prices are at www.fredmiranda.com in the buy/sell section.  You can get used Canon xti's for as low as $350 there.  Couple that with a cheaper starter telephoto lens like the 70-300 and you are set to go.  Then when you want to spend some real money, you can start buying some white lenses...

Or just get a point and shoot.  The panasonic ones are good with a big optical zoom.  I would never own a camera or lens again that doesn't have image stabilization...

I wonder if those bulls in pictures above are some half brother out of one bull? Geez What if I got this bull this sept bow season, and mounted next to one I kill last year was his half brother? it would be so COOL!  How can I tell if it was very close half brother?
The pic of bull on wall was last year was in same area. Also another pic, well I want to get him on open day! It was 6x7 Nicest bull in herd this morning. Geez... I dont think I could sleep every night until Sept 8th  :yike:
I gotta practice now.
