Man,  I would love to be able to hook up and talk with you about where to start in that unit.  Is there a time that is good to meet up with you?  I plan on taking some trips up there this summer.  I am going to buy a map of the unit tomorrow at the sports store.  Let me know the best time for us to talk.  Thanks for the help.

Fml!!! I had 12!

To both of you luck SOBs!
South baldy and stone Johnny, find them on google earth and start scouting, public land and good moose areas, lecric rd and old lecric road are good roads to access huntable land around those areas and other roads.  Bring a good tent, it gets wet up there at times.  Should get you started, have fun!

Congrats to you both, there are some great moose in that unit, just have to pass the small ones and wait for the big ones. The areas mentioned all have moose.

Thanks for the help! I'm located in Yakima. I would love to look at a map with someone sometime this summer. I want to plan a scouting trip soon to look at access.

Talk with boohoward and figure out a weekend the two of you can get together and head up there to take a look around.  Let me know what date you figure and I will meet both of yall to show you some areas I have seen many of moose.  Not trying to set up a tag team moose hunt for you guys, just trying to kill two birds with one stone.  Would love to see you both tag out and I'm willing to give you both all the info I have on the area.  Im located in the tri-cities so if you're ever down this way, I will be more than happy to go over a map here as well.
I would also encourage you both to talk with Bearpaw about his maps for a DIY yourself map.  My knowledge is a fraction of his.

Elkinrutdrivemenuts,

Oldleclerc road a starting place? I have LIVED on the one mile road for years and only ever seen moose like once. I laughed when I saw that! There are moose starting a few miles away but at least give the guy somewhere reasonable to start.  :twocents:

My bad, the east fork le clerc creek rd which turns into nf road 60.  You can drive all the way to Idaho on it. Also give to drainages behind bead lake a try.  I wouldn't wanna pack a moose out of there, but there is a big one up there.  Good luck.

I always thought it was the old rd, wasn't trying to throw them off.  I knew it was longer than a mile though ; )

It's nice to see some people helping other people, fill a once in a lifetime time tag without all the BS, that some people just have to give out. Thank you again to everyone who helped me with my first elk hunt into the bumping last year.
I will keep my guns, money and freedom. You can keep the change!
