Everyone who drew this tag should eat it and not pay the $70!
You can go to Montana and buy up to 5 $50 Mule deer doe tags over the counter as a non resident.
If you haven't figured out that this state is trying to up the prices on every tag and license to generate money for the rest of the broke systems and to push more people out of hunting, you have your head in the sand!  :hello:
This state lost my money after this year for miracle tags!  :bdid:
Out of 30 guys at work, I know 2 who drew elk tags. 10 of them drew doe tags and are not buying them!

I agree with your opinion, but the $500 or more in gas makes it a little hard for some guys to justify going to Montana. My party drew 2nd deer tags in Roosevelt where we hunt one of my co-workers family property, so I will buy my tag since I am going there anyways.  Besides, I dont think you can beat the taste of a nice fat doe that has been living on the wheat fields.
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

Roger that! I was also drawn for a 2nd tag in Roosevelt.  What's nice about the area (if you're on private land) is the choice of deer.  1, 2, 3, 4 ,5, 6, 7, or which ever one in the herd is bigger
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

:yeah: why would u put in for a second deer if u didnt want to pay the $70. 70 pounds of tasty venison is worth $70 to me! plus it makes  holding out for a mature buck way easier if a big fat doe is already cut and wrapped in the freezer :)

Good point.

The guys I know that drew it did not know about the new $70 price tag. They are pist! None of them are paying the $70.
cem3434, it would cost me that much because it's less than 100 mile for me. I'm assuming your on the Westside. I guess my point is that a guy next year could go over there and put 5 does in the back of your truck and with the exception of the gas, cheaper than what I paid for all my stuff in this screwed up state!

So are they pissed at themselves for not reading the regs and understanding what they were applying for? :dunno:

I drew this tag as well. I put in for it for a chance to whack a whitetail doe. We are not excited about the whitetails moving in on the place. So, If I see one, that's what my second tag will be used on. I am still dreaming of a wide, even 4pt for my first tag!

Carp, are you seeing the whitetails as well?

Hornhunter, I would recommend Carpsniper if you have limited options for land access. He will provide a fun hunt that you will remember for a long time.

Thanks

Yes I have been seeing around 4-8 does a year and a few bucks crossed up with whitetails. We have killed one with whitetail in it for the last 4 years. About 7 years ago my gma shot a toad that was the first cross we had killed. My dad shot a dandy buck as well and even alwine was sure it was a whitetail :chuckle: I have a picture laying around someplace of that toad my gma shot and its tail. Its about 1' long and solid white and true whitetail rack with a couple little mule deer features in it.

We kinda wondered if my buck from last year had a splash of whitetail as well. Carp, any head photos of the buck?
