Bloodline bullets
« on: June 18, 2012, 12:53:17 PM »
I bought the Knight Disc Extreme and am trying to figure out what load/bullet to use.  I will be hunting elk with it and am wondering what bullet weight to go with.  I see they offer 250,275, and 300 grain bullets, I have read some of Sabotloaders posts about the Bloodlines and they seem to be a good bullet.  This will be my first year with the muzzleloader and just want to make sure that I am using the best load/bullet combo I can.  I plan on starting off with 100 grains of loose triple 7 fffg and the #11 CCI magnum caps and working my loads from there.
Thanks.

I'd go with the 300 grain if you're set on those bullets.... Just shoot em first and make sure they groupe well and like how they load....

I would suggest going with the .458/300 grain.  It is a very good bullet...

You might go to your local reloading store and by a box of Sierra .458/300 grains and then find some 458 sabots - you can shoot them for practice and to get the gun sighted in - lot less money.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

Sportco in fife has sierra 300g 50 to a box for $25ish, bag of sabots around $7is.. lot cheaper to get groups nice before sending those $1.50ish rounds downrange. That's what I am gonna do. 777 Powder is also $3 cheaper than sportsmans wherehouse. I haven't bought anything yet, just window shopping. I dont want to pay too much. Its already costing alot and i haven't even bought any accessories. Way cheaper than bowhunting! :chuckle: :chuckle: Got over $1500 in my bow alone. :chuckle: :chuckle:
