Great training weekend!
« on: August 06, 2012, 07:00:36 PM »
I spent the weekend at my dog club's annual field trial/fun weekend at a private ranch in central OR. on the John Day.  Although hot, it was an amazing time as usual.  Here's a few pics of my boy Briar enjoying himself:

Surveying the incredible view

Canyon point #2

This was my favorite moment of the weekend.  Five minutes out of the truck, and a hard point on a covey of 15 chukars, about 80 yds in front of him.  It doesn't get any better than this.  Interesting to note the difference in intensity between his points on planted birds (above) vs. wild birds (below):

I'm still working on finding more birds here in WA so I won't have to drive to OR all the time, but it was worth the drive, and always fun to spend time with friends.

AMAZING ! I can almost hear the chukars laughing... I can almost hear myself gasping for air and throwing up a lung.

I know what yiou mean.  Luckily, this ranch is on top, so you only have to cough up half a lung! :IBCOOL:
