from what i have heard any elk in 448 are Nooksack elk that have wandered south and are few and far between. I don't believe there is a resident herd in that area. dont quote me on this just what I've been told. although i could swear that last time i was fly fishing on the stilly outside of oso i swear i heard one bugle.

:hello: I have not hunted there, but I do know where some are. Maybe we can do some info swapping (fishing the Skagit for elk). But the heard that I know of is much like NE elk. Oh, and I am 95% sure that there is a resident population.

Look at harvest reports for 448 not very many have been killed over the years.   I wouldn't put to much faith into the unit.  :twocents:

:yike: Yeah I do not think I need help in that unit ...437 ... the bulls that are roaming that unit will make to sheet your pants ...it just peeees me off they will not give out a couple tags for that unit ... I have seen one that would for sure hit the 380 to 400 mark and they are growing bigger every year ...... :bash: :bash:

yes 448 does have a small herd but they travel  back and forth between 448 and 460  from that info you should be able to figure things out.

I use to hunt that unit for blacktail pretty hard. I spent a lot of time in the woods and never saw an elk. I am not saying that there are none, but I wouldn't waist my time. If you could find a local that had some info, that would be a different story.
I hunt therefore I am.
