It's finally raining!

Excited so please forgive my shaky handwriting.
Raining steady and the woods are wet. I predict WEYCO will open for walk-in traffic if it continues like this!

From WEYCO;
At this time, the Vail tree farm is closed to ALL recreational access due to extreme fire danger. Absolutely no access of any type – not even walk in – is allowed. The tree farm will re-open for recreation access when we receive adequate rainfall.

Anybody know of a good place to access somewhere near 667 or maybe somewhere of a similar distance south of Olympia/Thurston County other than Cap Forest? I've hunted Vail pretty exclusively since I was a kid and this is my first hunt I'm doing without going with my dad and now Vail is looking to be locked up tomorrow morning.

Not according to my buddy who logs in Vail.  He said next mid week for walk in and next weekend for vehicles.    Weyco security has been thick here at Vail the past few days.  They have been making sure everything is well posted and that no one is sneaking in to scout or set up camp.

I just called and spoke with the receptionist at vail operations. she see's no change, no matter what the rain does today or tomorrow. Expect no change until late sunday or monday is what i was told.

I also have a friend that works in the woods for weyco. He said that they wanted two inches before they opened the gates.I'm pretty sure they won't open for this weekend.

Walk-in only and raining?
Most "hunters" won't even get out of their trucks on a good day. Could be the best opener in years!
