I inherited my grandads cougar mount that needs to be finished
«

Hello,
My grandfather passed away last june and I am getting his cougar mount. It is unfinished, needs teeth a base and a good going over. It is on its hind legs with its front paw stretching out like it is attacking something. anybody here a taxidermist or know of one that would tackle such a task?

Just as another option you could call Rick at Cedar River. He has an auction item coming up this week for store credit.
His add is at the top of the taxidermy page.
The cat in his add is the one he did for me, see this link
http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,98958.msg1285099.html#msg1285099
One of his recent posts shows a brown bear that I think he repaired for someone that didn't like the original mount by another taxidermist, he took it apart and re did it as I recall. It was in the shop when I was picking stuff up from him.
Just an option, I have been real happy with everything he has done for me especially the cat, they are tough to get right.

I don't think it was so much of a bad initial mount as it was the guy didn't like the original pose, Rick changed it to climbing onto that rock if it is the one that I am thinking of.
All of his stuff looks alive in person, really nice stuff.
