Breaking News :Gobbler Takes Dirt Nap
« on: May 01, 2013, 06:46:38 AM »
Haven't had much time to get out and hunt the past few weeks but got out before work and wacked a good Tom.  Not much of a story. Couldn't get birds to gobble in roost last night so went to one of ny honeyholes and they were gobbling as soon as I got out of the truck.

I setup on the edge of the field and waited. At about 5:25 they landed right in front of me and my hen decoy. I pulled the gun up and he started to run off I shoot low and hit him in the back blowing his fan to he'll :( haven't got home yet but beard is over 9"

Congrats,
was this at the house?  There has got to be a few birds around there, at least it looked like there should be some.
