Who else is a bunny killing machine?

I kind of wish I was. If they were in season. If they weren't so cute and tiny.

Im a bunny killer! but they ARE cute....arg so conflicting! Especially at that age, he looks about 2  weeks old,  you should leave him where you found him, mom will probably be back, mom leaves them alone except for about 5 minutes each day to nurse them. She tries to hide them and keep her scent away.

Heres a couple of my bunz just relaxing after what bunnies do best!  As you can see, he gave her flowers, because he's a gentleman!  :chuckle:

Whenever you wanna kill one let me know! It gets harder for me every time....probably gonna go tofu eating, tree hugger soon!

Here's another little one.  This one would not have covered my palm if I would have picked it up.

Yep....momma wasn't around but figured she wasn't to far off. We tucked them back in the brush nice and secure.

i hope this little guy's momma came back for him I raised rabbits and if anyone touched them before they were weaned the mother stomped them to death for having a human smell I guess.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

Wow I always assumed they had burrows.  I will start looking at the ground more closely from now on.

they do have burrows and when born are blind and naked, once haired and eyes open around 4 weeks they emerge from the nest and begin eating on their own, this is the stage where most losses occur as they are dumb and flighty...lol

the whole human smell cannibalism thing is overplayed....yes some does when spooked will kill and cannibalize their young....this genetic defect tends to disappear in the wild as they never reproduce successfully.  It is seen in domestic herds because we as breeders choose meat production, wool production, and conformations/colors over reproductive prowess thus you get breeds and bloodlines that are worse for cannibal behavior than others.....I handled all of my newborn bunnies and over 3 or 4 years I had one doe out of 3 breeds and over 300 rabbits that cannibalized her litter something evil got in the barn is my guess...likely it was a weasel that spooked her

Oh yeah, April is a total bunny slayer!  Check out that bloodthirsty look in her eyes...   :chuckle:

You think those are cute, check these little buggers out....  I'm just knee deep in cuteness around here.
