Spring guide rod

I took apart my CZ 75 Compact the other day for cleaning, after not shooting it for a while. In the process, I noticed the spring guide rod is a little bent. It’s a soft, flexible piece of plastic, no cracks or anything. I put it back together and the gun seems to rack just fine, but with the slide back, the rod is not parallel to the barrel any more. It never really was, but not it’s REALLY not.

Will this affect reliability in any way?

That's what I thought. I doubt it will break, it's very soft and flexible. No cracks or white stress marks.  But it's hard to take apart without bending it and now it's not completely straight. I've got some new new mags coming from CTD and I'll run a couple hundred rounds through it and take it apart again.

I bought the stainless guide rod for my p07 from the same place it was well worth the money. Does your pistol have polymer sights? I got rid of my p07 because no one offered metal sights for it back then.I love my dads full size ss cz75.

I'm pretty sure the whole pistol is steel.

While we're on the topic...

The reason I haven't shot it in a while is due to a freak set of circumstances that I won't even bother to try and explain, the pistol took a bit of a tumble. It was in the side pocket of an overnight bag, in a soft Uncle Mike's holster, and it fell about 50 feet onto concrete. As far as I can tell, the impact was on the butt plate of the magazine because it broke and the spring pushed all the rounds out. There is a tiny bit of scuffing on the butt of the gun, but other than that, I wouldn't be able to tell anything happened to it. I've taken it apart and inspected all the major pieces  under the brightest LED flashlight I have. No cracks, nothing bent, no viable stress marks. Everything slides together as it should and dry-fires just fine. I think the magazine functioned like an airbag and the spring absorbed the majority of the impact. Anyone ever have something similar happen? I mean, the chamber is exposed to 35,000 psi every time it shoots, how bad could a little fall be?

I plan to shoot it this weekend, I'll let you guys know if it blows my hand off.

Duct tape it to a stump and fire it with fishing line or something from cover. Getting stuck eating, picking your nose and wiping your ass with the same hand would suck, especially without another good hand to wash it!
