It's a tag you can buy if you can find a farmer that has damage complaints lodged with the state and will let you on his property. It is being hotly debated within the dept currently.

Got it thanks.  So it would be considered a second deer tag?

Um, yes and that is part of the debate, because the regs say that unless you draw a 2nd deer permit you can only harvest one deer. The other issue is that it basically opens a doe season year round and some are concerned what it will do to total numbers.

My understanding is that it has to be someone that has an approved claim with the state. Then you have to hope that they will give permission. I am not sure about the 2nd deer tag in combination with, I can ask.

You can call the WSDFW office in Olympia and get a list of names, whom are receiving approved damage claims. Previous years you could get the list several months in advance from the Land Access Manager. I called last year, and they told me the list was being held for release until late September, early October.
