Hunterofelk- That is a beautiful bull.  Do you have any more pictures that you could share with us?  Man I wish I hadn't gotten draw for my big bull tag last year, now I'm back to zero points with nothing to show for it.

Thats an awesome bull!  It makes it hard to find the sheds when you guys shoot them first. ;)

Here's a picture of my bull after he tipped over.  Kind of sad.  He was very regal looking on his hoofs, but I've been waiting for this moment a long time.

Ridgerunner, I'll think positive thoughts and maybe that will help you in the draw this year.  I hope I don't have to wait another seven seasons before I draw again, but I might have a high ceiling in my house by then, so....no, I want another permit next season.

I drew the Little Naches rifle permit in 2001 and ended up getting a 5x5 bull. I had chances at bigger ones but they just didn't give me the right opportunity. In 2004 I drew the Peshastin permit for rifle during the rut and ended up getting a 7x7 bull that grossed 345" with one 54 1/2" and one 52 1/2" main beams.  I'm looking forward to drawing something again soon. The Utah results will be out in just 2 weeks, I hope this is the year for deer there.  Nice bulls kirkl and hunterofelk..

Ooooh, you're ready to get a hit on that permit. Better be choosy.

Never drawn. I have 9 elk points. WIll probably never draw.
Not a whole lot of options here on the west side. But i can't take off to hunt spikes if i put in for anything on the east side.

I would be seriously concerned about drawing the tag in the Methow this year.  I was shootin the breeze with Ridge, and my thoughts are pretty gloom about that herd this year.  I have never seen the numbers so low.  They also wintered really hard which might be detrimental to antler size unless its another wet year.  We are also coming into the effect of the late hunt that happened year before last.  Getting a big deer in the Methow is going to be a tough thing to do this year.  I have max points as well, and really thinking hard on what I want to do. I always pick the Methow units first because I know it WELL.  I don't know the Entiat at all, but the reports are better on its herd.

My family has a place out there and I have talked to Scott Fitkins a couple of times this year and he told me that "the big bucks never showed up this year....."  I guess hunting them until the end of October was a bad thing........ :boxin:

I have very little faith in whats going on up there >:(

ya its tough decisions, make a guy go crazy. Ive also heard they didnt see many big bucks in the entiat last year either so im hopin for the desert tag. Im hopin they open the gates saturday right before the turkey opener so i can get to my spot.  Theyve opened them early the last two years before turkey season so im hopin they do the same this year.

Be careful of the entiat units also, i hunted 54 days  just in teh entiat unit last december and nov. and also being a local with lots of property up there where those big migrators like to come thru, there was definitly less big bucks as the years before, a toll of lots of rifle late permits, and 310 archery hunters in the entiat unit till dec. 8th has taken its toll on our big bucks. still lots of deer, and small bucks, but those big entiat bucks are a lot fewer than normal.
