WRL- Thank you for posting. I am very happy with my Drake female. She is on the small side, exactly 50 lbs.

I have been in touch with Gary about Pirate but unfortunately he is out of semen and Pirate was neutered due to infection a couple of years ago. His son FC/AFC "Cappy" is also owned by Gary and I have the go ahead to breed to him if I want. He is black and should be chocolate factored as his mom was a QAA chocolate out of Tiger Mcbunn and FC AFC Tadah (who I think is the greatest female chocolate producer in the last couple of decades, maybe all time).

Pirate is/was a great dog and was used a lot because he threw chocolate. But his most accomplished cross produced Cappy and two of his siblings who are either FC/AFC or AFC's. Also 6 MH, 3 HRCH, 1 GRHRCH and at least 3 QAA. I like my odds of producing excellent HT caliber dogs and fantastic hunting dogs as well.

Yes Cappy would be chocolate factored.

Make sure you PRA clear your girl. Its unlikely that Gary will have done a PRA test on his male and I believe Tayduh throw PRA.

Cappy took 3rd in the Amateur and a Reserve Jam in the open this weekend. And of course AMMO won her 4th Double Header of the year!!! Here is the thread over on RTF of all her accomplishments...

http://www.retrievertraining.net/forums/showthread.php?111772-Ammo-wins-4th-Doubleheader-this-year!-First-dog-to-do-so!

Happy, her accomplishments this year are being compared to a certain local dog you mentioned earlier in this thread  ;)

ammo has had an unbelievable year. I watched two of the double header wins this year. I also watched Ammo be a dog and go out on the first bird in the first series.

I wanted to go see her run in April but wasn't able to make it up to the trial. She won that one and Emmitt took 2nd. I have a friend who has a 1 year old out of Emmitt.

Anyways, dogs will be dogs and even the best ones have an off day.

Hope we get the chance to meet up at a test or trial in the future and talk dogs.
